Goodbye World of Xanga

The time has come.

I have become the follower yet again.

MySpace is the fad, and I have adherred to the fad.

Goodbye Xanga - it was a fun year.

Perhaps this will be updated again in the future. I personally see MySpace as cluttered, clunky webpages and definitely not as easy to udpate as Xanga.

Your 2005 Song Is
Since You've Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson

"But since you've been gone
I can breathe for the first time
I'm so moving on"

In 2005, you moved on.

Not really a surprise there, huh? :)

Not much is a happening tonight. I've been laboring around the house working on Return of the Native (<200 pages left to go, yay! :) The Billboard Music Awards came on too, so I've been occupying my time watching that in the background... R. Kelly is performing now. If he sings that whole "Trapped In the Closet" song again like he did at the VMAs, I think I'm going to die. Hmmm, appears to be something different, but probaby just as bad. Hopefully the KC will pickup some awards tonight making this viewing experience worthwhile.

In other news, life has been swell. Lots of work as usual which many times equals much stress for me. Therefore, I do apologize if I have been short or snappy with anyone. I don't handle stress very well and am very much looking forward to Christmas break.

Well, I think Eustacia is calling me, as well as my beautiful FLAG book. Hope everyone has a great night!

Good morning, you late night Xanga readers. The clock just struck 3:45 AM which I think finally means bedtime for me over here. The podges of Hodge (aka, Austin and Hunter : the twins for you people who don't do well with names) and Aaloki Sanjanwalalala. We were supposed to be working on our IB Group 4 Biology project, but as usual, procrastination took hold of all of us and we really didn't get started on actual work until about 11:30 or so. If you were wondering though, Counter Strike for about four hours before hand though was quite fun.

Anyways, these past few weeks have been pretty darn cool. First off, the best thing that's probably happened to me in two weeks would be my shower. Yes, I'm finally back and using my own shower (which who would have known a shower could make someone's day so much). For you peoples who didn't know about my bathroom predicament (ha, actually I don't think anyone really knows about my bathroom), my shower has been stopped up for a while... It's quite interesting how it happened actually. You see, I got a new bar of soap a month or two back, and I don't know about any of you Xanga readers out there, but a new bar of soap = fun for me! I take the cardboard box and fill it with water seeing how long it can hold it. After I had my fun with the box though, disaster unfortunately struck, and I plunged to the shower floor only to watch the cardboard soap box flush down the drain.... That was only the beginning of my problems. As I continued to take showers with my new hidden cardboard box friend, I started recieving unexpected presents from the drain below. Water would begin to flood the shower floor. At its worst, the shower had about 8 inches of water in the tub due to a clogged drain, and random clumps of mold that had started to grow on the sides of the tub began floating around mis pies (my feet for you non-Spanish freaks). As you can probably tell, I'm not much of a man when molds and funguses are involved, so I began to retreat to my older brother's shower (he's off at college now) where I satisfied my need to be clean for about two months. Last Saturday however I finally got up the nerve to face my moldy shower invaders and I poured a bottle load of rubbing alcohol down the drain (not exactly sure why that would help but at the time, I was desperate for all the mold to go away). Then, Pat (mi hermano) provided me with a snake-tube metal tube of pipe he found downstairs in the basement and we fished around pulling up chunks of cardboard... In the end, my shower made a big burping noise of freedom, and voila, everything went on down the drain! How happy I was!

Anyways, on to less important business. I am very, very excited as of this Friday! I found out I'll be going on to state level GHP for social studies. Marshall Rogers and Michael Moore (Mr. Moose) have told me such fun things about GHP, and I'm really praying that I'll get to go all the way this year (I got up to state last year, but got turned back then).

Hmmm, in other news, the induction ceremony for the Spanish National Honor society is this Tuesday... I'm a bit concerned because all of the new members have to light a candle and hold it there for about five minutes while singing a song... May not sound like a difficult task for most of you, but of course there are some of us such as Mr. Barwig who may have an issue with fire. Should be interesting to see Senora's face when the cafeteria goes up in flames.

Oops, the clock just struck 4:00. Already, I have wasted 15 minutes between writing about my bathroom experiences and helping Hunter look for a cough drop spray (interesting, I know). Oh, that reminds me. Actually, I'm not sure how cough drop spray reminds me, but I went to see the school play last night, The Music Man. I guess the title is a bit of a give-away, but yes, the play is a musical... Interesting I guess it was, but after the 683rd song, I was about ready to head on out. I do have to applaud the efforts of backstage handy WOman, Katie Chambers. Quite the prop and background mover-arounder she is! She definitely got my applause :) Oh yes, if you did see the musical, and were sitting in the near vicinity of myself, Jason, or mi hermano Pat, the terms "Pickles and Tacos" probably means something to you. I apologize if our singing took away from your play viewing pleasure, but it was quite amusing to us. After the play, we went to Three Dollar Cafe where we chowed down on some seriously large onion rings. Not just any old onion rings though - onion rings dipped with cheese. Mmmmm.... Very pleasant they were. And I got cracked up because present were myself, Pat, Cat, Claire, Marilin, Jason, and Amy and the waitress thought we were all couples... except for the fact that I had two girls next to me thus making me a pimp... I wish... but it was mucho fun. Oh yes, if you happened to read this far down into my entry, I would appreciate it if you could do me a favor. After eating last night, Jason and I got into a bit of an argument. In the song "Badd" by the Ying Yang Twins, I think the chorus says "I'm looking for a dime, that's top of the line, cute face, lil' waist, with a big behind", whereas Jason believes it says "slim waist." What is your input? Anyone here a ghetto music junky and have any insightful thoughts? I would appreciate your comments especially if they confirm my aspirations of the song saying "lil."

Well, the time keeps on clicking by. Austin and Alex are almost asleep I believe. Hunter just came into the room asking me if he could heat up a personal freezer pizza... I did remind him of the time (>4:00 AM), but I guess if you gotta eat, you gotta eat. It is good to be young - feed yourself with all you want, and hardly ever get fat. If only I could stay that way all the time - I'm starting to feel myself getting pudgy after large meals. Luckily, I think I have a safety blanket. You see, all of my jeans are size 32x32. Thus, if I ever start getting any larger than I wish, I simply whip on a pair of jeans and regardless of how tight they are, regulating my weight is what they do. Gracias jeans.

School is as usual. Health continues to involve our teacher screaming at people to take off their iPods. Van Treek and Wolff's classes are still rather amusing. Claire and I got into an "elephant fight" on Friday... (for all of you Zoo-deprived kids, an elephant fight involves taking the form of an elephant and fighting with your trunks... quite exciting the fight was especially compared to Mr. Wolff's guitar skills :) j/k - his singing is quite the stuff! Hmm, let's see if I can remember this one line he sings... "I was drunk...... the day I picked my mom up from prison." Very inspiring and motivating to his students I do believe :)

In other news, Pat finally put the Christmas tree up downstairs here in our computer room about a week or two back. Kudos Pat to the nice job, though I still feel the tree is a bit on the cheap side. It doesn't help that you can read the newspaper through it, and the lone foot-tall branch at the top looks quite strange with its singular light flashing... Perhaps Pat and I will break out the moola to upgrade the tree this year - too bad we've only lit it up once or twice. Guess I'm just not in the Xmas spirit yet.

Anyways, 4:12 seems like it will be the sign-off time for me tonight. I hope everyone is having a great weekend, and I'll talk to you later! ciao

Because of You

Bonjour mes amies. How is life treating all of you? Things aren't too shabby over here. Other than waking up this morning with a sore throat and mucus factories in full swing (sorry if that disturbs you), life has been pretty fine and dandy :) I see this post is actually being posted pretty close to my last one - only one week off! Sure beats the month it took me to post the last one.

Anyways, life has been pretty good. Last night was awesome fun. A lot more people went to the IB tailgate party than I thought were going to go, and therefore I got to see my surrogate mother friend, Paige, (housing 9 babies), play a little football with the IB juniors and seniors (which entailed getting shamed by a girl.... grrrr @ emma :) ), and hang out with mis favoritos como Silly Rabbit and Smelly Wanghead :) oh and before I forget: Aaloki Sanjanwala - if you read this, I have your bookbag in my trunk. I'll give you a call sometime tomorrow to drop it off at your casa.

After the IB get together, I went to another IB party (also known as Alanna's birthday party). As usual, anytime Alanna throws a party, tons of fun is to be had. I got to roast marshmellows for a while, get crunk with Gina, and wipe out the cookie population on the refreshment's table... (I exercised today... honestly....), as well as chill with muchos people I don't get to see very often anymore.

So there was my weekend. Now, let's have some deep, thought-provoking Xanga'ing: I wish to express my love for southern fried chicken (not just Kentucky-fried chicken, but any southern fried chicken). Though you literally see the grease dripping off when you rip that bird apart, how very good it is! Mom and dad brought home Bojangles the other night. For any of you who don't know what Bojangles is, allow me to explain. Imagine KFC but on steroids. Very yummy chicken, tators and gravy, dirty rice, y mas. Thus, as I am eating re-heated Bojangles now, I have found the inspiration to write about chicken in the Xanga.

On to deeper thoughts: I am very upset with a certain aspect of my life. Please note that for this paragraph, this aspect = a particular person. This particular person used to mean the world to me. We would laugh together, spend almost all day together, and make even the dullest moments shine just by being together, etc. etc. (except we wouldn't eat Bojangles together because she no le gusta fried chicken - long story). But anyways, recently, this person and I have been, well, drifting. It seems we never really talk anymore (though we have classes), and when we do talk, it's merely that: talk. It's never the fun old conversations we used to have. Instead, it seems like it's induced talk, forced talk. As much as I want it to be fun talk, it's almost as if that's impossibe no matter the effort we both put into it. At times, I blame myself for this drifting, but I think I'm finally starting to realize that as we grow older, we definitely change. She has new friends now, and they are the ones who make her life sparkle now; not me. It's hard though to let something that meant and means so much to you go so easily. I try to "be cool" with her still, but it seems she's interested only in her new friends. Of course, I can't blame her because I've changed plenty as well (if not more). I've got new friends who I spend my days with. Still, it's hard to let what we had go. I guess this is one of life's lessons that is learned the hard way. Over time, we all change. Old friends are replaced by new. The clock never stops ticking.

Anyways, Beans just came downstairs from probably his 7th shower of the day (he's become quite the clean freak for some reason), so I think we'll probably go play Counter-Strike or something. Also, I want to get a little Scarlet Letter knocked out early tonight. I heard that Mock Trial starts up this week, so that means my free time will be as elusive as the Snitch in a game of Quidditch (for all you Harry Potter readers :) ) I hope everyone is having an awesome weekend and enjoying their school year! Only two more years, and life as we know it is flipped upside down.
